How should Muslims respond? With caution and integrity—avoiding ghībah (backbiting) and unnecessary speculation. There must be no cover-up in Islam, yet this should not be used as an excuse for attacking scholars or institutions. The dīn remains perfect; it is we who fall short. The focus should be on lessons to learn and responsible steps to take moving forward.
